Through a pupil development approach the school encourages children to have a positive image of themselves and to have respect, sensitivity and thoughtfulness for others in school and in the community.

The school tries to foster self discipline and parents co-operation in working towards this is greatly appreciated.
If an aspect of a child's behaviour causes concern parents are contacted so that home and school may work together to benefit the child.
It is helpful if parents inform school of any home circumstances e.g. separation, bereavement, which may affect the child in school.
INFORMAION FOR PUPILS AND PARENTS ON EXPECTATIONS REGARDING DISCIPLINE & BEHAVIOUR
In the classroom we should make it easy for everyone to learn and for the teacher to teach.
For safety we should :-
Walk calmly and quietly inside the school building and take care when we are running in the playground, using play equipment or participating in sports, for example cricket or football.
Stay in the school grounds until home time unless an adult has had permission to collect us for a reason our teacher knows about.
Stay in the playground at playtime and dinner time unless we are told that we can go into the building.
Make sure that we do not do anything that can be dangerous to others.

Tell a teacher if we see anything that we know or could be dangerous.
Come to school on time. It is important that the school knows if you are not in school and for what reason.
To be liked by others we should :-
Try to understand other people; what they think, what they say and why they do things.
Be sociable and kind to everybody. It is not very nice to see or hear children fighting, spitting or swearing. Nobody likes to be called names or have nasty faces pulled at them.
Treat other children as we would want to be treated. It is not very nice to be hit, pushed, kicked or scratched. Nobody likes a bully. Rough games can also be dangerous.
Treat other peoples property with care.
Treat all adults with courtesy and respect.
Try not to be selfish.
Always use the special words 'please' and 'thank you'.
Don't forget to smile.
STATEMENT ON RACISM
Racism is defined by the school as attitudes and actions directed against a person by virtue of the fact of their colour and/or ethnicity in such a way as to hurt another or to engage in stereotyping. The school believes that racism is wrong and will not tolerate racism or racist attitudes amongst its staff, pupils or those who visit the school.Staff will challenge racist behaviour. The school will not tolerate racist taunting or bullying and if necessary contact the police, especially if adults are involved.
for Health and Hygiene we should :-
Use the toilets and washrooms properly. It is silly and unhygienic to play or eat in the toilets.

Always wash your hands after using the toilet.
Ask for soap and paper towels if there aren't any.
Keep the school clean by putting all litter in the bin.
